About Adventures for Life
Adventures for Life was founded under the auspices of the Los Angeles Diocese of the Coptic Orthodox Church as a nonprofit organization. AFL provides youth with the spiritual growth and knowledge that comes from experiencing God in the outdoors and building connections with each other. AFL believes that the frequent retreats from everyday life and away from the cell towers is where peace and simplicity is found. In this stillness is where we are able to discover God's works around us, and feel closer to Him through them and through the service we provide to each other. AFL wants everybody, regardless of previous experience or exposure to the outdoors, to be able to experience adventure as we have, and truly connect to the beauty of God's creation and to each other.

Our Mission
Our mission is to inspire and empower youth to believe in themselves, develop their Orthodox Christian faith, and discover their full potential through leadership, exposure to opportunities, and life skills development through the connection with nature. We believe that every young person deserves to experience the beauty and wonder of the natural world, and that these experiences can be transformational, helping them to grow in confidence, independence, and resilience.
